MuneTaku is the romantic pairing between Ibuki Munemasa and Shindou Takuto in the Inazuma Eleven GO: Galaxy series.

Relationship[]

Shindou and Ibuki are both players selected to be on Japan's national football team for Football Frontier International Vision 2 (FFIV2), Inazuma Japan. However, Tenma, Kyousuke and Shindou are quick to find out that the other eight members of the team had never even played football before; with Ibuki actually being a basketball player. The fact that these eight players were chosen for the national team instead of more qualified players despite their blatant inexperience disappointed the three, especially Shindou, who was visibly upset.

When going to training, Ibuki overheard Shindou wanting to play only with Tenma and Kyousuke, with himself in defense stopping all the shoots. He didn't appreciate that and asked Shindou to use one of his special moves against him. He did what he asked, but Ibuki was unable to stop it. Feeling humiliated, he goes training even harder even during night.

The team ends up going against the Korean national team - Fire Dragon. For their first match, Shindou blocked all of the opposing team's shots, which made Ibuki irritated. Unfortunately, he didn't manage to stop Rapid Fire; ending the first half with a 0-1. However, during the second half, Shindou uses a new special move - Einsatz, to block Rapid Fire. In their second match, Ibuki uses a special move for the first time - Wild Dunk, but it didn't seem to impress Shindou - who kept playing as defender.

During the final match of the FFIV2 A Block Preliminaries, Ibuki gets hurt. That's when he realizes that he can't stop every shot on his own. He then calls Shindou for help and admit to him that he was too self-centered on being the only one that can stop the shots. After the match, Inazuma Japan discovered that the opposing teams that they had been playing against throughout the preliminaries were actually aliens disguised as human and that the FFIV2 A Block Preliminaries were actually meant to determine if Inazuma Japan, now renamed the Earth Eleven, were skilled enough to represent Earth and participate in a bigger, intergalactic soccer tournament called the Grand Celesta Galaxy.

After the reveal, Ibuki goes training alone. Shindou arrives to talk to him, about what happened. He listens quietly to Ibuki.

Later, on planet Gurdon, the Earth Eleven split up to find a jewel. Shindou, Ibuki, Konoha and Minaho are attacked by a mechanical bird. Ibuki tries to distract it and tell the others to run away, but Shindou comes back to help Ibuki by throwing a rock at the bird, leaving him on plain sight. They both tried to run away, but both fell and can't climb back; the two looked for a way to go back to the team. On their way back for the match, Ibuki asked Shindou why he came back when he was attacked by the bird, and if that's because Shindou thought Ibuki was too weak to do it by himself. Shindou answered 'maybe', which made the two of them smile. Later, Ibuki helped Shindou not to fall and he thanked him. Ibuki responded "thanks to you too", which Shindou didn't understand but probably refers to the fact that Ibuki was grateful that Shindou had came back to check on him.
